Fall Series #9: Home Office Decorated For Fall

Hi Again!! Today, I would like to share our home office decorated for Fall.
I am really enjoying the Fall season, the warm earthy autumn colors, the smell of pumpkin spice candles burning, the sound of crunchy fall leaves beneath my feet, and a breezy-cool autumn evening. Is Fall you’re favorite season, too?
In the office, I added pops of fall color here and there, enough to make it feel cozy and festive.
Do any of you decorate the home office?
Below is a video of the office decorated…enjoy!
Thank you for stopping by to visit, it means a lot. XOXO

Fall Come Back – Fall Series #1

Hello, friends! Is anyone still around? Well, I’m back and ready to share my fall decorating with you.  Are you ready? Introducing my fall inspired dining room, appointed in warm Autumn colors.
I apologize for being gone for so long. We didn’t have high speed internet, so it took forever to load pictures and it ate up all of our data. Finally, FIOS became available in our area, so now I am ready to rock and roll! Just in time for Fall.
Autumn is my favorite time of year, so I had to bring those vibrant colors in, into my dining room!
I’ve started to add blue throughout my house. I love the blue with the autumn colors.
I got a new dining set a few months ago, so I went with a white table.
I love Roosters, I bring them out every fall, and I added some fall floral picks to my greenery.
My old black hutch I chalk painted to lighten it up and so these items sit on one of the shelves.
I got my plates from Wegmans, and shhhh, don’t tell anyone, but they are actually plastic plates, ha! 😉
I placed a pumpkin at each end of the table.
These are my good ol’ Dollar Tree pumpkins I bring out every year and in this very basket.
This is a Fall Rooster I purchased from Hobby Lobby last year, he is perched in amongst the fall leaves.
I just got these plates from Pier 1 Imports.
If you have a cloche, grab some fall items and display them inside the cloche. It makes for a pretty display, I think.
I had to add some autumn bling to my display. Nights are very cozy at my house.
Here are three shelves in the center of the hutch.
I added two fall berry garlands to my chandelier.
I love adding Fall leaf plates….you’ll see more of these plates displayed in my kitchen soon.
Thanks for visiting and I hope each and every one of you are enjoying the summer!
xoxo, Liz

Building A Fall Vignette + Video

Hi there! Today I will be sharing my latest fall vignette. As you come in the front door, we have a large Georgian Style staircase. Remember my farmhouse vignette post (below)? Well, I tried to mimic that look, but on the other side of my staircase.
 H E R E   IS  MY   V I D E O
(How To Build A Fall Vignette – You will see me start from scratch and build this pretty, festive Fall Display)
I T E MS * U S E D
Arched Iron Gate, Wreath, 2 Topiaries, 1 Candle Holder, Ribbon, Raffia, Beaded Lamp, Fall Floral Picks, Fall Garlands, Cloche filled with Fall colored beads, orange lights, and a porcelain chicken.
Decorating should be about having fun while you are being creative, and I had fun creating this vignette.
I found this chicken at Homegoods over the summer. I was trying to make my bird look like she was nesting .
My how I love adding these orange lights, it makes everything glow.
The picture below is what my vignette looks like without the glow of orange lights.
This shot was taken in the afternoon. I love this look….it has fall written all over it.
Thanks for visiting, hope y’all have a great weekend.
XOXO, ~Liz

My Christmas Decorating Has Begun

Hello, hello! Well, I know you are going to think I’ve lost my marbles, as I do every November, so it’s probably no surprise to you that I have started my Christmas decorating transformation.
<Insert – rolling the eyes emoticon here>
I know, I know…C R A Z Y! ðŸ˜‰
I simply can’t help myself, I’m ready for some red and green colors!  I searched the web for an “inspiration tree” and tried to copy it. So far, I am in-love with my tree. What you see in the two photos are the beginning stages. This tree is dressed with many different ribbons. As I stated in a previous post, I sold almost all my x-mas decor when we moved. This year, it’s almost like starting from scratch.
I purchased a pre-lit 9ft tree on Sunday and bought a ton of ribbon and Deco Mesh. I had thought about doing a different color theme this year, but decided to stick with what I love best, traditional red and green, it makes me happy! Plus, the kids LOVE it!  Instead of packing the tree with a gazillion ornaments, I will be packing it with a lot of different ribbon. Wait till you see the transformation, it’s whimsical!
I found this at Big Lots yesterday, it still has the tags on it, but these are LED candles, battery operated that come sitting on a tray.  These candles flicker just like a real candle. I’m going to dress this display up with some holiday greens and holly.
I took all my Fall decor down and placed everything in bins.
It always amazes me how fast I can take it all down compared to how long it takes me to put it all out. Ha!

Stacked my wreaths, ready to go into a box.

It feels great to have it all put away and now I feel like I’m starting with a blank canvas, ready to paint my vision. 😉
Bye-bye Fall decor, until next year!
Below is a sneak peek at my living room mantle.
Back to work….I love decorating for Christmas, it’s so much fun!
Tootles, and thanks for visiting! xo, Liz

Fall Decorating ~ With Owls

Can I get a WOOT-WOOT? Owls are so fun to incorporate into your fall decor.
Some people may incorporate black birds, some may use Roosters, some may use Owls, I incorporate all three, ha!
I found this little guy at Rite Aid, 50% off.
These Owls were from Rite Aid, too! Last years Owls.
Just add some fall leaves and set an Owl beside it and you have a cute vignette.
Set an Owl in a basket with some greenery and fall berries.
This owl I set on the hearth, he sits beside a fall berry swag and a lantern.
I bring this Owl out every year!
See my Fall Tree? Well, I made it an Owl themed tree and an Owl sits perched atop a bed of leaves.
I made the owl my tree topper.
Owls can be seen in various parts of the tree.
This is my Autumn tree from last year, can you spot an owl?
What animals, if any, do you incorporate into your Autumn Decor?
Thanks for visiting, friends! xo, Liz

Simple Ways To Fall-ify Your Home

Happy Friday, Friends! Today, I would like to share some simple ways to fall-ify your home!
I have found over the years that layering and grouping items is really the way to add warmth to your vignettes. Now, y’all know I’m no minimalist, (I wish I was) BUT even the stores layer their vignettes. The picture above was taken at Pottery Barn. I love how they grouped all the items together.
Adding wreaths is a great way to celebrate the changing of each season.
Same thing applies to pillows, simply change them out with the seasons. You certainly don’t want your summer pillows out during fall, or your fall pillows out during Christmas.  ðŸ˜‰
Add a simple Autumn centerpiece to your table and set some real or faux pumpkins beside it.
If you have any baskets or trays laying around the house, simply add some pumpkins and leaves to it for a pretty vignette on any table.

I thought this was a cute idea: Add M&M’s to any glass vase and add fall flowers to it. I saw this at my grocery store. I always snap photos when I see things I like and use them for inspiration later on. Do any of you do that when you’re out and about?

Fall platters are a great way to jazz up your kitchen during Fall.
Owls are the latest trend for Fall. WOOT, WOOT!! You can find block letters at various stores that spell out things like: Fall, Autumn, Blessings, Thankful…perfect for Fall!
Add pumpkins and gourds to your porch display. I like to toss them into baskets at different heights. 🙂
If you have metal wall art, a great way to add warmth is by adding a wreath.
During fall, I like to add dried green split peas to my glass containers. It’s a simple way to add a pop of color in the kitchen.
I added a pumpkin and some fall leaves and berries. I like to call this….Fall In A Jar! 😉
You’ve all seen those light-up pumpkins around town. I like to vary my pumpkins at different heights.
Here is another display I did in the kitchen using different kinds of beans you can get at the grocery store. I sat my glass canisters in a basket and added leaves, pumpkins, and gourds around it. In the canisters, I added a pumpkin to each one.
In the family room, I added this wreath to my metal and wood wall art.
You can buy the artificial fall flowers at any craft store and a cute way to add a little pizzazz to them is by tying them altogether with a ribbon, and then you can set it beside something.
In my family room, I have added some big fall plates to the shelves on my entertainment center.

Lastly, I could’t help but share this picture. This is our dog, Bentley, taken last Fall when we got him. He was completely “obsessed” with leaves, every time he went exploring, we would find him with a leaf in his mouth.  Isn’t he sweet? He is one now, and completely obnoxious, but we love him anyway! 😉
Thanks for taking the time to visit, and have a wonderful weekend! XOXO, ~Liz

Autumn Table Display

Hi there! I hope everyone is having a fantastic week! Well, the weather here in Washington has changed, it is now cooler and rainy, so I am back in “nesting” mode, ha!
I started off by hanging a fall wreath from my mirror using burlap ribbon.
Two Tuscan style pots sit beside a galvanized metal basket  holder which is filled with wooden acorns and a mix of faux pumpkins and gourds.
The colors POP against the black table and mirror.
The Gourds in the wreath mimic the Gourds in the metal basket.
The Pineapple basket I always use in entryways, because the pineapple symbol has been a universal sign of hospitality and welcome for many centuries all over the world.
If you have a basket, a basket of any shape and size….just toss some pumpkins and fall leaves inside, and ba-bam, instant color and impact!
Beside my table sits two Tuscan style chairs, and this completes my foyer Fall Display!
I have a ton of things to show you, so stay tuned!
Thanks for stopping by! XOXO, ~Liz
