Decorating A Wall Shelf For Fall + Video

Hi there! Join me and ill show you how I decorated a wall shelf for fall. I wanted this shelf to be fun for the kids. My girl’s love squirrels, so the squirrels were my inspiration.
I started out using raffia as my base (on top of the shelf) and I decided to give the raffia a haircut as you will see in the video. I wanted the raffia to mimic hay. Once I got the look right, I began to add items.
*BELOW IS MY VIDEO*
I found the squirrels at Walmart, on clearance for $1.00, score!
I had this wreath and decided to hang it from the wall shelf hooks because all the colors coordinate well.
I added two candle holders on either side and placed pumpkins on top of each one.
I added acorns, pumpkins, and gourds on top of the raffia.
I love all the warm fall colors on this shelf.
It looks like harvest time on the shelf.
Aren’t they cute? Well, thanks for stopping by, hope y’all have a great day! ~Liz

It’s Autumn In August

Hi there! Yes, you read the title correct, it sure is Autumn in August over at…The Tuscan Home.
Every year, right before the kids go back to school, I get busy decorating for Fall. Join me, and I will share what I have completed around the house.
I have lots of metal and Iron wall decor, and all through the year, I simply change out the wreaths with the seasons.
I have a black hutch in the kitchen dining area. I love adding fall colors, because it looks cozy against the black backdrop.
On the top of my hutch I added a large basket and filled it with pumpkins and gourds. I added two fall leaf garlands and two berry garlands to add dimension.
Here is another example of adding a wreath to metal wall decor. In this photo I hung my wreath with wire ribbon.
In the family room, on a sofa table I added a few leaf plates.
Here is the family room mantle. I added a lit fall leaf garland and some berry garlands, too! I placed twig pumpkins in amongst the garland.
I adore the the earthy, warm, fall colors throughout the house.
I always have an Autumn Tree, so this year my theme is a Pumpkin Tree.
I used a large twig pumpkin as my tree topper, ha! I added tons of fall leaves, twig branches, and beige deco mesh and wired ribbon.
Happy Harvest, y’all! 😉
In the living room I added two wooden pumpkins in amongst some greenery.
In the kitchen, I filled up a huge glass canister with tons of multi-colored beans that you can buy at the grocery store. I placed some greenery in the beans and then layered it with some tall fall floral picks.  I took out my pumpkin wax warmer, and placed some “pumpkin spice” wax melts inside, can you smell the pumpkin now??? 😉
In the dining room, I hung a wreath in the window and placed an Autumn floral arrangement beneath it.
Here is the kitchen dining area with the hutch decorated for Fall.
In the office I sat a pumpkin on top of the greenery.
I love this family platter I found at Walmart two years ago.  I placed some sunflower floral picks just under the platter.
Last week, I found these two pretty cloches at Tuesday Morning and placed some Fall Potpourri inside the cloches, to add a splash of color.
In the dining room, I layered with pumpkins, leaves, gourds, and acorns…right around my candle centerpiece.
In this glass vase, I placed fall apples and acorns in around my candle.
In this photo, I added a fall twig pumpkin that has berries, a small pumpkin, and a big leaf on it.
Here is the living room. I will share better pictures soon. It was hard to get a good shot with my iPhone.

I filled a large glass vase with rustic pumpkins and placed them around my candle.

Here is a shot of our dining room.

I’m in love with the super tall windows in the living room, it lets so much light in. 🙂
I decorated my mirror by hanging the letter R (for our last name) and added a fall berry garland at the top. I also decorated the home office, too!
Well, although it’s still summer, and I’m loving every second of it, I am also enjoying my warm, cozy, and earthy Autumn decor, during summer, ha! I know, I’m crazy-e!
Thanks for visiting! xo, ~Liz

Simple Ways To Fall-ify Your Home

Happy Friday, Friends! Today, I would like to share some simple ways to fall-ify your home!
I have found over the years that layering and grouping items is really the way to add warmth to your vignettes. Now, y’all know I’m no minimalist, (I wish I was) BUT even the stores layer their vignettes. The picture above was taken at Pottery Barn. I love how they grouped all the items together.
Adding wreaths is a great way to celebrate the changing of each season.
Same thing applies to pillows, simply change them out with the seasons. You certainly don’t want your summer pillows out during fall, or your fall pillows out during Christmas.  ðŸ˜‰
Add a simple Autumn centerpiece to your table and set some real or faux pumpkins beside it.
If you have any baskets or trays laying around the house, simply add some pumpkins and leaves to it for a pretty vignette on any table.

I thought this was a cute idea: Add M&M’s to any glass vase and add fall flowers to it. I saw this at my grocery store. I always snap photos when I see things I like and use them for inspiration later on. Do any of you do that when you’re out and about?

Fall platters are a great way to jazz up your kitchen during Fall.
Owls are the latest trend for Fall. WOOT, WOOT!! You can find block letters at various stores that spell out things like: Fall, Autumn, Blessings, Thankful…perfect for Fall!
Add pumpkins and gourds to your porch display. I like to toss them into baskets at different heights. 🙂
If you have metal wall art, a great way to add warmth is by adding a wreath.
During fall, I like to add dried green split peas to my glass containers. It’s a simple way to add a pop of color in the kitchen.
I added a pumpkin and some fall leaves and berries. I like to call this….Fall In A Jar! 😉
You’ve all seen those light-up pumpkins around town. I like to vary my pumpkins at different heights.
Here is another display I did in the kitchen using different kinds of beans you can get at the grocery store. I sat my glass canisters in a basket and added leaves, pumpkins, and gourds around it. In the canisters, I added a pumpkin to each one.
In the family room, I added this wreath to my metal and wood wall art.
You can buy the artificial fall flowers at any craft store and a cute way to add a little pizzazz to them is by tying them altogether with a ribbon, and then you can set it beside something.
In my family room, I have added some big fall plates to the shelves on my entertainment center.

Lastly, I could’t help but share this picture. This is our dog, Bentley, taken last Fall when we got him. He was completely “obsessed” with leaves, every time he went exploring, we would find him with a leaf in his mouth.  Isn’t he sweet? He is one now, and completely obnoxious, but we love him anyway! 😉
Thanks for taking the time to visit, and have a wonderful weekend! XOXO, ~Liz
