Tuscan Style Wall Shelf Decorated For Fall

Hello Friends! Today, I would like to share a Tuscan style wall shelf, decorated for Fall.  I found the Fleur De Lis metal wall art at Ross, and the black shelf at Hobby Lobby.
The greenery is from Hobby Lobby and the sunflower arrangements are from Wegmans.
All I did was set the greenery down on either side of the pumpkin and then stuck the sunflower floral picks into the greenery. Simple, simple, simple.
I just love the pop of color on this wall shelf.
You can find this pumpkin at Tuesday Morning.
I must admit, I have a Fleur De Lis obsession.
Pretty, inexpensive, and festive for Fall.
What are you placing on your wall shelves for Fall? Thanks for visiting! XO, ~Liz

LED Light Strips…My new LOVE!

Hello! I purchased some LED Lights and had to share them with you. See the picture below? Well, this is where the fireplace sits and it’s always such a dark area in this room, so I decided to move a flat screen TV above the mantle and add some LED light strips to lighten the space up.
I got this light kit and Home Depot and needed two packages to go all the way around the perimeter of the 50″ TV.

When you take them out of the box, this is what it looks like. It comes with a remote and has several different color options. You can go bright, or dim the colors down depending on your mood.

All you do is stick the lights on wherever you want them and they stay put.  It’s that easy! The colors are awesome. You can match the color to go with your decor, too! Ha! My hubby stuck them on for me.
This was what it looked like when we turned them on for the first time.
We then installed the bracket and we were ready to place TV.
We put on Man Of Steel and the blue color just seemed fitting.

I could have gone with a larger flat screen, but decided against it, because I still want to be able to decorate my mantle through the seasons.

This is with an orange back light.

I must say, the orange light got me thinking of fall colors and pumpkins….can’t wait!

It adds that little touch of ambiance I was looking for.

Here is some accessorizing I did as well. I placed a tray and candles down on top of the coffee table.
I placed a lantern on top of a little trunk, added some greenery, a wicker vase and placed a ball on top of it that says peace.

I love brown and green together.

Here is how the mantle looks during daytime hours. I will have to share some night shots, because the LED lights really POP at night.

I added some candle sconces on either side of the fireplace and placed garden balls on top.

So, there you have it….adding LED lighting to my decor. Hope you like it! 🙂

Thanks for visiting! XOXO, ~Liz

Tuscan Mantle Revised And Home Theater – TEASER!

Happy Thursday, friends! Today, I would like to share a few changes on my living room mantle.
My mantle was previously on the blah side, so I decided to jazz it up a little, nothing a little greenery and accessorizing can’t fix, right?
I added candle sconces on either side of the metal wall embellishment.  The candles are LED and on timers, which I love.  The candles kick on at 5pm and go off at 9pm.
I adore book boxes and add them all over my house to add height.
I placed faux fern greenery in my glass canisters on either side of the mantle.
I like the fullness on the mantle, before is looked a bit sparse to me.
The ferns look like palm trees to me, perfect for summer, ha!
Greenery can always fill a blank and open space so well.
Don’t you enjoy changing things around from time to time?  I do, and do it frequently, I can’t help myself! 😉

Coming up…
SOUND ACOUSTIC WALL PANELS
for our HOME THEATER.
Below is a little TEASER….
Getting creative with CANVAS!
I picked out 4 yards of material at Hobby Lobby and now I’m about to get to work by using a staple gun to staple the fabric to the canvas.
Some may ask….why is it necessary to add acoustic wall panels to your theater? Well, it’s important because it improves the sound and tonal balance while minimizing reflections in your entertainment space.
I’m excited to share our home theater with all of you, it’s been a work in progress.  I ordered 8 curtain panels (room darkening curtains) this week, so more on this room later.
Thanks for visiting! xo, ~Liz

Accessorizing With Yellow And Green.

So, what do you do when you get bored with a room in your house?  Well, you move items from one room to another and refresh, right? 😉  Some of the decor items below were in my dining room, and I moved them to my Baker’s Rack in the kitchen.
All the items you see above were purchased from Hobby Lobby for 50% off, score!
Even this little pot was purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I filled it with faux fruit from the Dollar Tree.
I showed you these Dollar Tree plates before, as they were on my dining room table. I moved them and decided to leave them stacked on my Baker’s Rack shelf and placed a faux artichoke and grapes in the bowl.
I love this little lamp. I got it at Ross for $6.00.
I love the pop of yellow. Before I had a lot of green displayed on the Baker’s Rack, and it was feeling a little blah, now it seems a bit cheerier now. 🙂
I added a big glass candle holder and placed a green garland inside. Below, I placed faux oranges in the glass containers.
In the foyer area, I made this apple arrangement.
I love the wispiness of the greenery.
Green garden balls are wonderful to use anywhere in your house, very versatile.
Lastly, I will leave you with my front porch. I used to have an outdoor fireplace here, but I moved it to the backyard now that our patio is done. I didn’t know what to put in it’s place, so I placed this chest here and placed pillows on top for a pop of color.
A view from inside the house. 🙂
So, the moral of the story is, if you get bored with items in one room, simply move them to another room and refresh. 🙂  Thanks for stopping by! XOXO ~Liz

Adding Green To The Dining Room

Hello, sweet friends! Sorry for not posting in awhile, summer calls…;) Today, I would like to share my dining room. I had a lot of yellow in this room and decided to swap out the yellow for more green accents.
I added a plate, book box, rustic pot and garden ball, and a candle holder with greenery on top.
I love pots that are rustic in appearance.
I grouped this little set together and draped some green grapes from the pitcher.
I really like adding wreaths to my arched gates or iron embellishments.
I always add garden balls to the mix.
Here is our hutch with more green accents.
I added some burlap looking lamps to the top of my hutch. The ceiling is tall, so I like the way the light bounces off the ceiling.
I love my arched wood and metal gate. You may recall this gate in my old kitchen window, although I had two of them side by side.

No room would be complete without a rooster, ha!
Do any of your remember this table? It used to be white. I spray painted the chairs and table legs to black to match the hutch.
I just love black furniture, because when you accessorize with any color, it pops! I can’t wait for fall, I am ready for fall colors. 😉
Green is my favorite color.
I like to layer items, and I don’t always like things to be matchy-matchy. So, I added placemats and an animal print table runner.
Green  jugs and grapes.
The animal print table runner goes with my black furniture.
On one of the hutch shelves, I added this little canvas picture that says Parsley and placed a faux plant beside it.
The dining room is so hard to take a picture of because there are so many windows, which makes the room look washed out, so I apologize.
Even at night, the lighting isn’t right, unless it is DARK. 😉
I added a few black accents, too!
I did leave some yellow pieces in the room.
Isn’t it fun to change things and accessorize with different colors or pieces? I think so! 😉
I hope all of you are enjoying the wonderful summer days! 🙂
I’ll be back later this week to share my other dining area and kitchen Baker’s rack. I added more yellow.
Thanks for stopping by! XOXO, ~Liz

New Curtains Ordered From Wayfair

Happy Friday! Today, I would like to share some new curtains I ordered from wayfair.com. A home, just isn’t a home (to me) if it doesn’t have the warmth of curtains on the windows.
I purchased the Stripped Faux Silk Taffeta Curtains. I like my curtains to slightly puddle on the ground, so instead of the 84″ standard window length, I got the 50″X108″ length.  I am so pleased with the quality. These curtains are heavy and lined with white on the inside. I think they really look like silk, but without the price, faux is just fine with me. 😉
I had initially thought to use curtain clips, but decided that I liked the
Pole Pocket with Hook Belt and Back Tabs just fine.
I purchased the curtain rod from Home Depot.
See, is this window calling for curtains, or
what?
I hung the curtains and then decided I needed to add a little Tuscan flair! 😉 So, up went a metal wall embellishment.
See, this window just needed a little drama. Boring to better, right?
I started to move my accessories around, brought in some black accents (like a bookcase) which I am using to showcase some cute kitchen/Tuscan-style decor.
I love the colors yellow, red, gold, brown, and green together.
I tried to find items in my storage area that would coordinate with my new curtains.
Does it look Tuscan-esque to you?
My chairs go well with the curtains, too!
To the far left, I removed the wall shelf and brought in the black bookcase. As cheap as the bookcase is, I still like seeing my nick-nacky things. I can’t help myself, lol!
(a few pictures down, you’ll see the bookcase)
I added a lemon next to Mr. Roo for summer!
Here’s my old Walmart bookcase.
I love displaying this cookbook, Savoring Tuscany.
Adding little jugs and topiary plants here and there.
Placed a fork and spoon in this container….to add a little kitchen feel to it!
I like to add lots of garden balls into my summer decor, actually they are a staple in my everyday decor. Ha!
Here is the Rooster arrangement I just shared.
Here sits another Roo right on top of the black bookcase.
Adding lemons and oranges to my summer decor.
Lastly, and it’s so true…the kitchen is the heart of the home! 🙂
Isn’t is funny how changing one thing (in my case, the curtains) leads to more changes in accessorizing, or re-arranging furniture? Does that happen to you, too? 😉
Cha-cha-changes! I liked these curtains so much, I ordered another set for my sliding glass door. I’ll share that soon!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
XOXO, ~Liz

Tuscan Wall Shelf Vignette

Hello Ladies, today I would like to share a wall shelf display.
In the living room, I hung a grouping of three metal Fleur-de-lis on the wall.  The look by itself just wasn’t doing it for me. Hmm, what to do? So, I ran to Hobby Lobby and found a black metal wall shelf, Tuscan in style, and thought it would be perfect to go under my wall arrangement.
I added a rustic green pot and placed some greenery in it, and then placed some yarn balls in amongst the greenery.
I think the wall shelf adds a bit of warmth to the whole arrangement.
I like the brown coming through on the black shelf and the distressing on it.
One a table in the living room, I added a touch of Spring by adding a big brown bunny.
I played with the arrangement by adding greenery, and greenery with grapes, but decided I liked it without the grapes.
On another table, I added a giant garden ball and placed it on a bed of greenery in a big Tuscan pot.
I like the wispy greenery, it adds a lightness and delicateness to the to display.
I sure love accessorizing our home, it’s so much fun! 🙂
Thanks for visiting! XO, Liz
