Fall Series #9: Home Office Decorated For Fall

I am really enjoying the Fall season, the warm earthy autumn colors, the smell of pumpkin spice candles burning, the sound of crunchy fall leaves beneath my feet, and a breezy-cool autumn evening. Is Fall you’re favorite season, too?
In the office, I added pops of fall color here and there, enough to make it feel cozy and festive.
Do any of you decorate the home office?
Below is a video of the office decorated…enjoy!

Fall Come Back – Fall Series #1

Hello, friends! Is anyone still around? Well, I’m back and ready to share my fall decorating with you.  Are you ready? Introducing my fall inspired dining room, appointed in warm Autumn colors.
I apologize for being gone for so long. We didn’t have high speed internet, so it took forever to load pictures and it ate up all of our data. Finally, FIOS became available in our area, so now I am ready to rock and roll! Just in time for Fall.
Autumn is my favorite time of year, so I had to bring those vibrant colors in, into my dining room!
I’ve started to add blue throughout my house. I love the blue with the autumn colors.
I got a new dining set a few months ago, so I went with a white table.
I love Roosters, I bring them out every fall, and I added some fall floral picks to my greenery.
My old black hutch I chalk painted to lighten it up and so these items sit on one of the shelves.
I got my plates from Wegmans, and shhhh, don’t tell anyone, but they are actually plastic plates, ha! 😉
I placed a pumpkin at each end of the table.
These are my good ol’ Dollar Tree pumpkins I bring out every year and in this very basket.
This is a Fall Rooster I purchased from Hobby Lobby last year, he is perched in amongst the fall leaves.
I just got these plates from Pier 1 Imports.
If you have a cloche, grab some fall items and display them inside the cloche. It makes for a pretty display, I think.
I had to add some autumn bling to my display. Nights are very cozy at my house.
Here are three shelves in the center of the hutch.
I added two fall berry garlands to my chandelier.
I love adding Fall leaf plates….you’ll see more of these plates displayed in my kitchen soon.
Thanks for visiting and I hope each and every one of you are enjoying the summer!
xoxo, Liz

Building A Fall Vignette + Video

Hi there! Today I will be sharing my latest fall vignette. As you come in the front door, we have a large Georgian Style staircase. Remember my farmhouse vignette post (below)? Well, I tried to mimic that look, but on the other side of my staircase.

Arched Iron Gate, Wreath, 2 Topiaries, 1 Candle Holder, Ribbon, Raffia, Beaded Lamp, Fall Floral Picks, Fall Garlands, Cloche filled with Fall colored beads, orange lights, and a porcelain chicken.
Decorating should be about having fun while you are being creative, and I had fun creating this vignette.
I found this chicken at Homegoods over the summer. I was trying to make my bird look like she was nesting .
My how I love adding these orange lights, it makes everything glow.
The picture below is what my vignette looks like without the glow of orange lights.
This shot was taken in the afternoon. I love this look….it has fall written all over it.
Thanks for visiting, hope y’all have a great weekend.

DIY Cloches For Fall

Hi Guys, today I would like to share a simple DIY project. Many of us LOVE a pretty cloche, but some are hard to find, while others are super expensive. So, today I’ll share a very inexpensive way to make one (or more) of your very own.

V I D E O TUTORIAL B E L O W

All of the items were purchased from Walmart.
CHEAP. CHEAP. CHEAP.
You’ll need: 2 glass plates, 2 glass bowels, 3 glass candle holders, 2 knobs, E6000 Adhesive, and some Rust-Oleum Spray-paint (1 can). I used a Satin finish and the color is Sage. You can get this cheaper at the Dollar Tree as the candle holders were a few dollars more at Walmart, but the plates and bowels, each 99 cents.

This was me playing with the look I wanted prior to painting and using the adhesive.

By the way, Walmart’s Autumn *limited edition plates* are beautiful this year….go check it out.
You can place whatever you want inside the cloche. I’m still playing with ideas and where I will place them, but you get the idea.

Theses cloches were fun to make. I can use these throughout the year, love them. I will be making larger ones soon.

Thanks for visiting and Happy Decorating!

XOXO ~ Liz

Autumn Table Top Vignette

Hi there! Join me and I’ll show you how I decorated a table in my living room for Fall.
Who loves decorating for Fall? I would love to hear what kinds of traditions you celebrate during the fall season and what room you look forward to decorating the most.
I love those vibrant, warm, autumn colors.
Layering items and adding texture makes for a more interesting vignette.
Here is the living room at a glance.
Below is a shot of my Autumn Arrangement during the late afternoon.
This shot is around 8:30 at night.

My Autumn Mantle And Video

Hi Ladies, today I would like to share my family room mantle decorated for Fall.
So, have you all been struck by the *fall* decorating bug yet? I have! 😉
This is my Autumn mantle. It’s messy, imperfect, but I like it that way. I think it adds character, ha!

I used everything I had from previous years, but added the new candle sconces from Ross.

I added pumpkins and acorns.

My everyday greenery was used as my base, and then I began to layer with my fall floral picks and garlands.

I like adding layers because it adds depth and texture.

I added Curly Willow branches for a rustic element.

I used fall arrangements in metal vases on each end of the mantle to add balance in relation to the TV.

I love these candle sconces and they were so cheap. 🙂

The LED lights behind the flat screen (which were off in this photo) cast a beautiful shadowy effect at night onto the fall mix.

 I love wooden acorns.

Thanks for visiting and below is a quick video snippet of my fall mantle.

Suspended Ladder Project

Happy Wednesday! Today, I would like to share my suspended ladder project. Many of you may recall my “white” hanging ladder many years ago. I would decorate the ladder through the seasons. Well, I really miss it, so I decided to make my very own hanging ladder, just in time for fall.
Where did I get my inspiration for a DIY ladder? I will tell you. Suzy from Worthington Court. She explains with pictures how to make this ladder for under $20.00. She did not hang her ladder, but I did. This is my version – in black. You can paint or stain the wood in any color you like, or leave it completely untouched for a rustic touch.
It took me 15 minutes to assemble the ladder including measuring my slats, pre-drilling then adding the screws. I wrote down all the dimensions (per Suzy’s blog post) and went to Lowes and had them make all the cuts for me. Can you say ~ simple?
I did pre-drill the holes because I didn’t want the wood to split or crack.
I put the screws in and was done. Seriously, it was just that simple.
I  then painted the wood starting with the brown paint color as I was unsure what color I wanted to go with.
This is the ladder painted brow. I didn’t sand the wood, as I wanted a rustic look.
I decided that I wanted the end look to be black – to match my kitchen table and hutch set.
I pre-drilled and placed this hook on all four sides, so I could attach my chain and hang it from the ceiling.
These are the hooks and chain I purchased.
Adding the chain.
Here is the ladder before adding the hooks and chain.  I could have found several uses for it. I could have leaned it up against a wall and used it as a blanket holder, or a towel holder in a bathroom.
Here my ladder is suspended from the ceiling.
I had some glass shelves and placed those on top of the ladder so I could set things up there evenly.
 This is the finished look.
Umm, did I forget to mention that I have already started to decorate for fall? *blush*
I got so into the fall decorating that I decided to make my family a fall meal, Butternut-squash soup with crumbled bacon on top and ciabatta bread for dipping. It was delish!
I’ve got a super cool project to share that only cost $40.00 and adds the WOW factor to any kitchen. I will be sharing that next, and lots of Autumn decorating, too!
I’ve got my pumpkin spice candles going and the house is super cozy in Autumn colors, and I’m loving it! Thanks for visiting!
XOXO, ~Liz
