Dollar Tree Fall Candles

Hi there, I’m back with another quick Dollar Tree idea! I purchased three glass candle holders, 1 bag of faux fall leaves, three small candles, and some rope. Total cost $8.00. CHEAP!
I had a bag of faux pumpkins that I purchased from Target last year, and I dropped a thin layer of pumpkins into each glass holder and placed a candle in each one.
I then tied two leaves onto each glass candle holder using rope.
I placed the candles into a tuscan style tray and then added corn and a few wooden acorns.
I just love all the fall colors together.
Whala, wall “fall” vignette, complete!
I like the fall candles up next to the Roo pictures.
This is how it looks without the candles lit.
Now look how pretty they look WHEN lit!
I just love the glow of Autumn.
Simple. Inexpensive. Festive.
If you decide to make a few of your own, enjoy the beautiful glow, I sure am! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by! xoxo, Liz

LED Light Strips…My new LOVE!

Hello! I purchased some LED Lights and had to share them with you. See the picture below? Well, this is where the fireplace sits and it’s always such a dark area in this room, so I decided to move a flat screen TV above the mantle and add some LED light strips to lighten the space up.
I got this light kit and Home Depot and needed two packages to go all the way around the perimeter of the 50″ TV.

When you take them out of the box, this is what it looks like. It comes with a remote and has several different color options. You can go bright, or dim the colors down depending on your mood.

All you do is stick the lights on wherever you want them and they stay put.  It’s that easy! The colors are awesome. You can match the color to go with your decor, too! Ha! My hubby stuck them on for me.
This was what it looked like when we turned them on for the first time.
We then installed the bracket and we were ready to place TV.
We put on Man Of Steel and the blue color just seemed fitting.

I could have gone with a larger flat screen, but decided against it, because I still want to be able to decorate my mantle through the seasons.

This is with an orange back light.

I must say, the orange light got me thinking of fall colors and pumpkins….can’t wait!

It adds that little touch of ambiance I was looking for.

Here is some accessorizing I did as well. I placed a tray and candles down on top of the coffee table.
I placed a lantern on top of a little trunk, added some greenery, a wicker vase and placed a ball on top of it that says peace.

I love brown and green together.

Here is how the mantle looks during daytime hours. I will have to share some night shots, because the LED lights really POP at night.

I added some candle sconces on either side of the fireplace and placed garden balls on top.

So, there you have it….adding LED lighting to my decor. Hope you like it! 🙂

Thanks for visiting! XOXO, ~Liz

New Curtains Ordered From Wayfair

Happy Friday! Today, I would like to share some new curtains I ordered from wayfair.com. A home, just isn’t a home (to me) if it doesn’t have the warmth of curtains on the windows.
I purchased the Stripped Faux Silk Taffeta Curtains. I like my curtains to slightly puddle on the ground, so instead of the 84″ standard window length, I got the 50″X108″ length.  I am so pleased with the quality. These curtains are heavy and lined with white on the inside. I think they really look like silk, but without the price, faux is just fine with me. 😉
I had initially thought to use curtain clips, but decided that I liked the
Pole Pocket with Hook Belt and Back Tabs just fine.
I purchased the curtain rod from Home Depot.
See, is this window calling for curtains, or
what?
I hung the curtains and then decided I needed to add a little Tuscan flair! 😉 So, up went a metal wall embellishment.
See, this window just needed a little drama. Boring to better, right?
I started to move my accessories around, brought in some black accents (like a bookcase) which I am using to showcase some cute kitchen/Tuscan-style decor.
I love the colors yellow, red, gold, brown, and green together.
I tried to find items in my storage area that would coordinate with my new curtains.
Does it look Tuscan-esque to you?
My chairs go well with the curtains, too!
To the far left, I removed the wall shelf and brought in the black bookcase. As cheap as the bookcase is, I still like seeing my nick-nacky things. I can’t help myself, lol!
(a few pictures down, you’ll see the bookcase)
I added a lemon next to Mr. Roo for summer!
Here’s my old Walmart bookcase.
I love displaying this cookbook, Savoring Tuscany.
Adding little jugs and topiary plants here and there.
Placed a fork and spoon in this container….to add a little kitchen feel to it!
I like to add lots of garden balls into my summer decor, actually they are a staple in my everyday decor. Ha!
Here is the Rooster arrangement I just shared.
Here sits another Roo right on top of the black bookcase.
Adding lemons and oranges to my summer decor.
Lastly, and it’s so true…the kitchen is the heart of the home! 🙂
Isn’t is funny how changing one thing (in my case, the curtains) leads to more changes in accessorizing, or re-arranging furniture? Does that happen to you, too? 😉
Cha-cha-changes! I liked these curtains so much, I ordered another set for my sliding glass door. I’ll share that soon!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
XOXO, ~Liz

Tuscan Style – Entertainment Unit

Hi there! Today, I would like to share our Tuscan Style inspired Entertainment unit in the family room.
I am constantly changing up the family room. I need to find a pretty area rug to add warmth and color, and I also need to add a few other things before I am happy with it.
A flat screen used to sit in the space below, but I moved it.  I much prefer the ambiance of amber colored lighting to a shiny flat screen tv. Are any of you the same way?
I really like adding metal and wood to my tuscan vignettes.
Pottery with greenery adds a softness to the space.
I like to find pots that are different, but alike in color and similar styles.
I adore topiaries and garden balls, I add them everywhere throughout the house. 🙂
I love the colors brown, green, rust, black, and beige together.
Love these canisters from Hobby Lobby.
The metal and wood piece I found at Hobby Lobby.
I use these candle pillars year round and change out the candles from time to time.
Greenery is great to use as space fillers.
In the entertainment unit, I have used a few book boxes to add height.
Here I have used book boxes again! 😉
The center (top) part of the unit sits a pot with a garden ball, and two greenery sticks on either side.
So, there you have it….
The family room decorated Tuscan Style! Have a great day, everyone! I’m off to paint my pantry door with chalk paint….oh boy!!
xoxo, Liz

Spring Has Sprung

Hello, sweet friends! Well, it looks like the weather is finally beginning to change and spring has sprung at.
THE TUSCAN HOME! 😉
The color – yellow, is beginning to take over the house. I hung this wreath on my metal arched gate. Why didn’t I hang a wreath there sooner? I love it, much more inviting!
I moved this plate and bowl set to the sofa table. I needed to bring in a little more yellow.
I tipped the bowl upside down and placed the garden ball on top of it.
Pops of yellow are so cheery this time of year.
I also added a bright and colorful Rooster, which is primarily yellow.
On my Baker’s Rack in the kitchen, I added these two rustic black bunnies.
On another wall, I added another yellow wreath to my metal wall embellishment.

It glows at night, ha!

I like how I can see the wreath in the mirror at night.
Last week, at Hobby Lobby, I found these three candle sconces, 66% off! Of course, there I go again NOT putting candles on my sconces, I placed garden balls on them for Spring, instead!
I placed a jar of spaghetti next to my bunnies, and two new burlap lamps.
In the foyer, I hung a pear wreath by burlap ribbon.
Love the pop of green.
I found this Rooster at Ross last week, only $29.00. I’ve seen the same one at Home Goods for $79.00, can you say steal of a deal? So, I snatched him up FAST!
A bunny hippity-hopped his way to this vignette, and there he sits.
I found the oval granite cutting board at Ross last week and sat the plant and bunny on it.
I decorated the entertainment center and this bunny found her way there and sits in amongst the greenery and spring flowers.
This rabbit joined the vignette, too!
Back in the kitchen, I added pastel jelly beans to this glass container and placed some spring greenery around it.

I added some easter egg malt balls to this cloche.

I also added some candy corn carrots, and sat this beside my black rustic bunnies, on the Baker’s Rack.

So, there you have it, the beginning stages of spring blooming at…
THE TUSCAN HOME!
Thanks for stopping by! XOXO, ~Liz

Wall Vignette

Hi there! It’s time to share a simple wall vignette. I had a blank wall that was driving me nuts, hmm, what to do I asked myself?

Hmm….think, think, think! I know, a Tuscan Style, Rooster-themed wall vignette to go on the wall in between the kitchen and dining room, so that’s what I did! 😉

I love Roosters and found these two pictures at Hobby Lobby for 50% off, so I snagged them just as fast as I could.
I found the wall shelf at Ross for $19.99. It looked Tuscan Style to me, so I grabbed it fast! I don’t see these often at Ross. 😉

I adore these warm colors, and Roosters are so darn cute!

The candle sconces are from Pier 1 Imports.

The Boxwood garden balls are from Tuesday Morning, $3.99 each. I thought it would be fun to place the Garden Balls on the sconces instead of candles.

I placed two Roosters and some greenery on the shelf.
And….whala, a cute little vignette!
I later decided to add this bowl of garden balls from Real Deals.
I love it when a plan comes together, don’t you?  A once lonely blank wall turned cozy. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by~ Liz

Elements Of A Tuscan Dining Room

The elements that make up our Tuscan Style Dining room are warm earthy colors, pottery, iron looking wall art, heaving metal sconces, greenery, and faux fruit.
Wispy greenery looks more natural and makes for an elegant arrangement.
Adding greenery, or a simple garden ball adds a softness to otherwise heavy looking pieces.
I especially love to add a lot of faux fruit as we get closer to spring.
Artichokes are so pretty, add them to any bowl with a sprig of greenery and grapes, it pops!
I like to layer things. Place a bowl on top of a woven tray, it adds depth and texture.
Place an artichoke, or two, below any display…it gives the display a bit more visual interest.
I use candle sconces to display garden balls, it’s different and I like to be different! 😉
I like to group items together to make pretty table vignettes.
Below: I took a shelf from Hobby Lobby, placed an urn with greenery on top, and set a simple moss ball beside it.
If you have a glass candle holder, fill it with a few moss balls, instead of a candle.
Once again, I added grapes to fill in…they are great space fillers! 😉
Lastly, I added two lanterns on either side of my hutch, and placed some battery operated LED candles inside. These candles are awesome…they are on timers and go on every night at 5 and go off at 9pm, which adds a lovely ambiance to the room each and every night.
The elements that make up your room are the very things that give it character, so have fun grouping items, accessorizing, and thinking out of the box.

XO, Liz
