Hi there, friends! I hope you’re all doing well. I’m back to share a little idea I had for the kitchen. I LOVE to cook and was tired of always scrambling for my iPhone and then looking for recipes so tiny I that could barely read them. So, I added an iPad to my backsplash.
I picked up some industrial double sided Velcro Tape. You can find it at Walmart, or any home improvement store. Clean your backspash well, making sure it’s completely dry, cut a strip for the top off the iPad and one for the bottom of the iPad, and press and smooth it right onto the back of it.
Cut two more velcro/tape strips and place them where you want the iPad on the backsplash….then take your iPad and press it firmly against the two strips. The tape and velcro hold the iPad on perfectly. Next, I purchased a cheap picture frame from Walmart and just took the glass and matting off. All you have to do is slip the frame around the iPad, and you have rotating photography in your kitchen.
Place your iPad near an outlet so you can keep it charged when needed. Using the velcro allows you the versatility of being able to take the iPad on/off the backsplash when needed, or leave it there permanently, I do!
If you want to conceal where the outlet is, just add some greenery.
You can add photos of food, your family, scenic photos, etc…
I love it so much, I’m going to add another one to the other side of my kitchen.
I keep the iPad on 24-7 on rotating pictures…..love, love, love!
People love the look of this when they come over. I’m sure you will love and enjoy it as much as I do. It’s fun and it’s different, try it! Now I can look up a recipe, check the weather, or email, right from my kitchen.
I placed a basket filled with faux lemons next to the iPad and used the greenery to conceal the iPad cord.
Hope you like this idea, and thanks for visiting!
XOXO,
~Liz~
I love it.
Thanks Valerie! 🙂
So smart!! Love the idea of rotating photos…
This is brilliant! What a smart idea!! And I'll bet that having the iPad up off the countertop keeps it from getting dirty when you're cooking. (Not that yours would get dirty; you're so neat and tidy–but I'm a messy cook! 🙂
Thanks Richella,Yes, I get messy in the kitchen when cooking, so having it off the countertops helps tremendously. Ha, glad I'm not the only one. 😉
Thanks for visiting, Sandy! 🙂
Great idea Liz! I had to wipe some stuff of mine the other day. It would have been safer up and away from the counter.
Love this idea, Liz! I miss you and your posts so much and I would love to see what you are doing for Spring!
What a great idea! Leave it to you, Liz! Love love love it!
Love this idea, Liz. I normally keep my iPad on a stand on the counter. This is so much better! Thank you for sharing. Maria
What a great idea! Are you decorating for spring?
Hi Barbara,Thank you, and thx for stopping by. 🙂
Hi Beth,You are so sweet, thank you. I just started decorating for Spring. I'm going to try and take some pictures today with my good camera and do a post. 🙂
Hi Liz,The velcro tape holds the iPad on the backsplash so securely, I just love it. I always know where it is now, and if I must take it down, it comes off without a hitch. 🙂
Hi Regina,Yes, I just started decorating for Spring. I'm going to take some pictures today and hopefully do a post soon.
Hi Maria,Thanks for visiting. I used to have our iPad on a stand but then my kiddos would take off with it, now it makes it harder for them to do that, ha!
Very smart and beautiful idea!
Thanks Robin. 🙂
So nice to see a post from you, Liz! I hope you are doing well and enjoying your new home. This is such a great idea. I have a laptop that I use for recipes, but sometimes it's really in the way depending on what I'm cooking.Warm hugs,Carol
Great idea! Thanks Liz for all the inspiration.Joanie
