My Christmas Decorating Has Begun

Hello, hello! Well, I know you are going to think I’ve lost my marbles, as I do every November, so it’s probably no surprise to you that I have started my Christmas decorating transformation.

I know, I know…C R A Z Y! πŸ˜‰
I simply can’t help myself, I’m ready for some red and green colors!  I searched the web for an “inspiration tree” and tried to copy it. So far, I am in-love with my tree. What you see in the two photos are the beginning stages. This tree is dressed with many different ribbons. As I stated in a previous post, I sold almost all my x-mas decor when we moved. This year, it’s almost like starting from scratch.
I purchased a pre-lit 9ft tree on Sunday and bought a ton of ribbon and Deco Mesh. I had thought about doing a different color theme this year, but decided to stick with what I love best, traditional red and green, it makes me happy! Plus, the kids LOVE it!  Instead of packing the tree with a gazillion ornaments, I will be packing it with a lot of different ribbon. Wait till you see the transformation, it’s whimsical!
I found this at Big Lots yesterday, it still has the tags on it, but these are LED candles, battery operated that come sitting on a tray.  These candles flicker just like a real candle. I’m going to dress this display up with some holiday greens and holly.
I took all my Fall decor down and placed everything in bins.
It always amazes me how fast I can take it all down compared to how long it takes me to put it all out. Ha!

Stacked my wreaths, ready to go into a box.

It feels great to have it all put away and now I feel like I’m starting with a blank canvas, ready to paint my vision. πŸ˜‰
Bye-bye Fall decor, until next year!
Below is a sneak peek at my living room mantle.
Back to work….I love decorating for Christmas, it’s so much fun!
Tootles, and thanks for visiting! xo, Liz

  1. I am ready for some green and red too. I bought some new ornaments this year and can't wait to get them out but since I have Thanksgiving at my house I have to start the next day. I can't wait to see your tree!

  4. You crack me up Liz! I figured you would have started by now. I will start probably mid November. Have fun putting all together.Jeannette

  5. Yay! I enjoyed your fall ideas, but I just love seeing your Christmas decorating the most. I am also happy that you chose to stick with red and green. I always love the traditional color schemes and I just can't get use to the pink/blue/all white/etc colors. It just doesn't "feel" Christmas to me. Have fun decorating and I can't wait to see all of your ideas!! I will be digging out my own Christmas bins tonight.

  6. You have to start early. Otherwise, Where are the rest of us going to get our inspiration from. I plan to start my house next week. I have parties in December to work on and don't have time for thinking about decorating. Thanks for always being my "go to."

  7. You are a Woman with a vision… I love it! I also decorate in November because I want to enjoy it as long as I can. I can't wait to see what else you do. Have you ever thought about decorating other peoples homes for a living? Seasonal decorating? You certainly have the talent! You always bring me so much inspiration! Blessings!

  8. I'm with you Liz, I like to have it all done by Thanksgiving so I can enjoy my December. I always love seeing your creative decor. Always inspirational.

  9. Hi Liz, SO glad you're back. Sitting here staring at my Christmas tubs, out of the "go-go juice" until I saw these pics. Now I'm ready to get another tree done πŸ™‚ I sure WISH I lived close enough when you sold all of your decorations. What a gold mine! Take care πŸ™‚ Thanks for the motivation!
